about
What is Suedehead?
Suedehead Comic is an online comic strip by Doryan Algarra.
Recently, Suedehead has morphed into an (exaggerated) auto-bio comic based on my life sprinkled with random thoughts. And no, I do not look like Suedehead, as I have a nose and hair, he is a visual representation (alter ego) of me.
Look folks, it is what it is…hopefully, it will amuse you for a couple of seconds.
FAQ’s
What’s with the name Suedehead?
Suedehead means a couple of things. Suedehead was a subculture in the 1970′s in which men wore close-cropped hairstyles and were greatly influenced by West Indian (specifically Jamaican) rude boys and British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle. For more information see the Wikipedia page here. The comic itself has no relation to this definition.
Suedehead also is the name of a song by Morrissey that debuted in 1988. Morrissey and The Smiths happen to be my favorite bands. Once I had doodled what is now the character Suedehead, that name popped into my head and seemed to fit nicely.
